Funnel-Cath™ Mouse Catheter

The innovative Funnel-Cath™ Mouse Catheter solves the problem of how to attach a tiny catheter to conventional devices such as swivels and Luer stubs.

FunnelCath™ is extruded from the same implant-grade polyurethane used in our SoloCaths though a bit stiffer to facilitate placement in mice. We offer two sizes: 1) a 2 French proximal end for attachment to a 25 gauge swivel, tapering down to a 1.2 French intravascular segment, and (2) a 3 French proximal end for attachment to a 22 gauge swivel, also tapering down to 1.2 French.

Before the FunnelCath™ there were two ways of tapering a catheter. The first involved “pulling down”, or stretching tubing using an open flame or hot oil. This method was cumbersome and the catheters were inconsistent. The second method involved bonding a smaller catheter to a larger one. Catheters produced this way were typically vulnerable to breakage and leaks. The FunnelCath™ is the first and only catheter tapered during the extrusion process, making it seamless and consistent catheter to catheter, batch to batch.

These catheters are uncoated polyurethane with a clear, rounded distal tip. Individually packaged and sterilized.
