The Reusable BP Transducer is a low-cost, light-weight unit that uses an extravascular sensor system to measure blood pressure. The MLT0380/D transducer is suitable for connection to any ADInstruments Bridge Amp, while the MLT0380/A transducer is suitable for connection to the ML301 Bridge Pod.

Operation: 

The transducer is an external sensor for coupling to vascular pressure via a liquidfilled catheter. Blood pressure, transmitted via the catheter liquid column to the sensor, deflects a gel-filled diaphragm. The gel isolates the electronic circuitry from the solution. To prepare the transducer, hold it upright, with its cable at the bottom. Completely cover the transducer diaphragm with saline solution to form a meniscus free of bubbles. Slowly screw the dome onto the transducer, displacing excess liquid. Tighten the dome firmly to assure a tight seal. To help air-free filling, attach a flush device to the side port of the dome. Fill the dome and attached components, making sure all air is flushed from the system. Allow a few minutes before zeroing the transducer.

Application

 The Reusable BP Transducer is suitable for measurements of arterial and venous blood pressure in large animals.
