These drug delivery capsules are small enough for dosing rats and are also suitable for guinea pigs. They are ideal for the delivery of dry materials (powder, beadlets, crystals, paint flakes, etc.), pastes, and non-aqueous liquids. The capsules are made from hard gelatin using same process and substance as that for capsules manufactured for human use. They meet all FDA standards as well as USA, European, and Japanese Pharmacopeia standards.

Simple Delivery

Delivery of these capsules is simple and easy. The filled capsule is placed in the dosing syringe. The delivery tube of the dosing syringe is inserted into the animal’s esophagus. When in place, the syringe plunger is pressed and placement of the capsule is complete. Regardless of the location of the capsule in the esophagus, provided normal peristaltic action occurs, the capsule will reach the stomach and then discharge its contents within 10 minutes. The capsules may also be used for dosing rectally, vaginally, or subcutaneously. For first time users it is recommended that you practice with empty capsules. This allows both the researcher and the animal to acclimate to the procedure.

The dosing syringe and filling funnels must be purchased separately.
