BIOSEN Measurement System for pH, pO2 and pCO2

The Universal Perfusion Solution Monitor permits precise continuous or discontinuous measurement in liquid media or perfusate of these three key parameters: pO2, pH and pCO2.

It can be used in any isolated organ system: heart, lung, liver, kidney or other organs. It also can be combined with any self-built perfusion system by adding a suitable PLUGSYS housing (e.g. 73-1521) for the listed modules.

It can be used in any isolated organ system: heart, lung, liver, kidney or other organs. It also can be combined with any self-built perfusion system by adding a suitable PLUGSYS housing (e.g. 73-1521) for the listed modules.

The electrodes are all ion-sensitive chemosensor-based, side stream flow-through electrodes and require a pulsation-free roller pump to deliver constant flow of perfusate through the electrode at flow rates in the range of 0.5 to 2 ml/min. The electrodes include a connector to the associated PLUGSYS amplifier module. Because of the high impedance of these sensors, screening or shielding of the measuring circuit is required to protect against electrostatic discharges and other electrical disturbances.

Additional Requirements

If only pO2 or pCO2 are to be measured, the following items are needed:

  • 73-3000 Small Mounting Plate for a Single pO2 or pCO2 Sensor
  • 73-4196 Shielding Case for One pO2 or pCO2 Mini Sensor
  • 73-0013 or 73-0014 REGLO pump
  • 73-0126 Pump tubing
  • 73-4029 pO2 measurement option including O2 electrode and OPPM module or 73-4031 pCO2 measurement including CO2 electrode and EMM module
  • Suitable PLUGSYS housing (e.g. 73-1521 or 73-1523) for the above listed modules
