The HA-HSE ISOHEART data acquisition and monitoring software can be adapted to virtually any isolated heart system. Acquisition can cover signals such as left ventricular pressure, aortic pressure, aortic flow, atrial pressure, atrial flow, coronary flow, pO2, pCO2, pH, temperature, etc. Various parameters can be derived from these signals, e.g. systolic, diastolic, mean and rate (frequency) values for pressures, +/-dLVP/dt contractility index CI, minimal, maximal, and mean flows, etc.

All acquired signals and all calculated parameters can be displayed in two graphic windows (Detail and Trend) according to the settings of the user. Complete raw data of experiment are stored on hard disk and can be replayed any time later after the experiment. Includes graphic selection of trend data points for easy data reduction.

ISOHEART software is available in a basic version which includes the minimal necessary algorithms. Optional software modules are available to upgrade to a more complex system that includes all the available algorithms.  The configuration of the system is defined in configuration and can be set by the user in the menu. The user only needs to calibrate the signals and fix the graphics scaling. All the hardware definitions and algorithms can be defined by the user. The configuration files can be changed according to the needs and used in combination with a set of different configuration files to match the different experiments.

ISOHEART software can acquire a maximum of 8 or 16 channels (depending on hardware used   73-3330 (16 ch), 73-4817 (8 ch), 73-4818 (16 ch) or  73-0161 (16 ch), i.e. up to 16 different raw signals can be handled.

  • Choose available signals to acquire and display.
  • Choose from possible parameters to evaluate and display.
  • Enter experimental protocol.
  • Calibrate. (Calibration can be taken from previous experiment).
  • Start data acquisition.
  • Data reduction and evaluation.

During data acquisition, all acquired signals and derived parameters are displayed on screen. All raw data and trend data are stored. Data reduction tools are included. Export of data to any statistical package are possible.

Additional available software modules:

73-0237 LVP Advanced Evaluated parameters: Taulog, Time to peak, Relaxation time RT50 and RT10, Contractility Index
73-2715 Monophasic Action Potential
Calculates: MaxV, MinV, Amplitude, Rate, dV/dtmax, dV/dtmin, APD90 (duration at 10% of MAP amplitude), APD75, APD50, APD25, APDx

The software can also control our Programmable stimulator modules, requires 73-0224 software module for PSM control and the necessary PSM hardware

Commonly Used Signals for Langendorff Preparation are:

LVP    Isovolumetric LVP or contraction force
 PP    Perfusion pressure
 CF    Coronory flow
WT    Wall thickness or left ventricle diameter
Oxygen partial pressure in the affluent / effluent
   pH in the effluent

Commonly Used Signals for Working Heart Preparation are:

PrP    Preload pressure
 AoP   Aortic pressure (afterload)
Left Ventricular Pressure, measured with tip catheter
  Aortic flow
Cardiac output (flow into left atrium)
Wall thickness or left ventricle diameter
Oxygen partial pressure in the affluent / effluent
 pH   pH in the effluent

It is also possible to acquire other signals (e.g., temperature); maximum is 8 or 16 signals depending on hardware used.
