Membranes for the Flow-Thru Dialyzer are available in three different materials to best suit your application: regenerated cellulose, celluose acetate, and polycarbonate.

Regenerated Cellulose: Constructed of a very stable cellulose, regenerated cellulose membranes are resistant to organic solvents. This membrane is inert to proteins and provides maximum sample retention. These pre-cut membranes are available in MWCO’s from 1 to 50 kDa. Ready to use after rinsing with deionized water and buffer. Glycerol, sµlfur, and heavy metals are not present in these membranes.

Cellulose Acetate: Cellulose Acetate membranes are made of rayon and are ideal for use with aqueous solutions. They are not for use with organic solvents. These membranes are low protein binding, providing high sample retention. These pre-cut membranes are available in MWCO’s from 500 Da to 300 kDa and have a more defined pore size than the regenerated cellulose membranes. Supplied in 0.05% sodium azide solution, they are ready to use after rinsing with deionized water and buffer. Glycerol, sµlfur, and heavy metals are not present in these membranes. 

Polycarbonate Membrane: Polycarbonate membranes are chemically resistant and are ideal for use with acids and organic solvents. These membranes are available with sharply defined pore sizes ranging from 0.01 µm – 0.60 µm.  

Harvard Apparatus ships membranes dry to increase their shelf life. Membranes must be rehydrated before use.
