Single-Channel Stainless Steel Infusion Swivels
A two-channel swivel gives you the ability to infuse and withdraw simultaneously, to infuse on one channel while monitoring on the other, or to infuse on two lines independently. Dual channel swivels are a bit more delicate than single channel models, particularly the side channel. With proper care and use, dual channel swivels can last for many years.

The 61-0004 Dual Channel 22 Gauge Swivel, designed specifically for microdialysis in rats, has a quartz-lined center channel to reduce dead volume and prevent oxidization of neurotransmitters.
The 72-0000 uses a completely different seal design with two significant improvements: quartz lining on both the center and side channels, and extremely low frictional torque, making it the first dual channel swivel that can be used with mice. However, the 72-0000 model is more fragile than the 61-0004 model and often cannot be repaired if clogged or damaged.
The 75-0277 Low-Torque Dual Channel Swivel has a design similar to the 72-0000 Low-Torque Dual Channel Swivel for Microdialysis, but uses stainless steel tubing instead of quartz for improved durability. It is intended for infusion and blood sampling with mice.
All stainless steel models include a universal swivel-to-tether clamp that connects to all of our standard spring tethers.

About Harvard Apparatus/Instech Swivels
The swivel, a device that rotates to keep the cannula from tangling, is a critical part of any continuous animal infusion system. The Harvard/Instech Fluid Swivels have been in laboratory use for more than 30 years and have earned a reputation as the finest in the industry. Every swivel is precision machined to ensure ease of rotation, durability and reliability. The design minimizes internal dead volume and eliminates stagnant regions along the fluid path. Fluids passing through the swivel touch only stainless steel tubing and special self-adjusting PTFE seals.
For a complete listing of available sizes and custom orders or to select the best swivel for your application please call Harvard Apparatus Customer Service. Harvard Apparatus also has a variety of complete infusion systems that contain the equipment you need to carry out an infusion study.
