Easily expandable system available in different configurations
Highly sensitive and stable sensors for O2 and CO2
Optimized for rats and mice
Laser sensor for lower influence of air humidity on the measurement of O2/CO2 gas
Uses the newly adapted weight transducer technology, providing a higher
accuracy and stability
External food and drink dispensers avoid any influence on the living space of the subject as well as unwanted artifacts
Registers the absorbed food & drink and its wastage by the means of specifically
adapted systems
Rearing can be assessed using an additional infrared frame
The Panlab/Harvard Apparatus Oxylet system evaluates respiratory metabolism by means of indirect calorimetry. Optimized for studies in laboratory rodents, Oxylet enables the monitoring of carbon dioxide (CO2) production and oxygen (O2) consumption as well as the calculation of related physiological parameters (respiratory quotient, energy exchange, etc.). The Oxylet system offers unmatched flexibility and accuracy in the selection of metabolic parameters.
The Oxylet system can be used in association with different experimental enclosures depending on the application needs. Systems can be configured for long-term studies with our airtight cages that have food and drink capabilities or exercise physiology can be studied in conjunction with our single lane airtight treadmills.
Can be expanded to accommodate up to 32 animals.
System Components
The complete Oxylet Metabolism System includes the O2 and CO2 Monitor, the Air Flow and Switching Unit(s), Air Tight Metabolism Cage(s) for Mice or Rats, and Respiratory Metabolism Software.
Can also be combined with our single lane animal treadmills for exercise metabolism studies.
