These small, firm, top quality gauze sponges are for use in delicate surgical procedures. They are double wrapped and have a locked-in X-Ray detectable element. They are available in peanut or cherry shapes. The all gauze peanut sponges are 9.5 mm (3/8 in) in diameter and are used when precise sponging is necessary in delicate procedures. Cherry sponges are also all gauze and measure 12.7 mm (1/2 in). Both are carefully folded to encompass the X-Ray element and eliminate loose edges. These sponges are available sterile or non-sterile and are supplied 500 sponges per case.
