These High Intensity Illuminators have intensities with a single lamp head of up to 12,500, 3,200 or 600 footcandles (ftc) at 15.2 cm (6 in). Each is also available with two lamp heads which doubles the maximum intensities and is ideal for applications such as stereomicroscopy. Electronic full-range intensity control allows for precise adjustment of light intensity from 0 to maximum.
The Illuminators are constructed of steel with durable chrome and high gloss enamel finishes and have anodized aluminum bulb guards. They have a round, 14.5 cm (5-3/4 in) diameter non-tip, weighted base 4 cm (1-1/2 in) high for stability.
The lamp heads are mounted on a 28 cm (11 in) flexible gooseneck arm with a 5 cm (2 in) all-angle swivel top. This arm allows for
infinite adjustment of the lamp heads to any position.
Each Illuminator comes complete with its high intensity bulb for each lamp head and a 1.8 m (6 ft) cord with plug and switch. The 230 VAC, 50 Hz Illuminators are supplied with a Transformer with a NEMA 3-pin grounded plug 5-15P.
Bulbs, Heat Shields and a Magnifier Kit are available as accessories. They easily attach to both the Single and Dual Lamp Head Illuminators, see below.
12,500 ftc Single/25,000 ftc Dual Illuminators
These Illuminators use a Tungsten/Quartz/Halogen Bulb with a long bulb life of 10,000 hrs. The color temperature is 3,000°K. The Bulbs have integral, multi-facet, paralliptic reflectors and offer the user
pre-focused combination beam spread of 19° providing a 4.5 cm (1-3/4 in) field diameter.
3,200 ftc Single/6,400 ftc Dual Illuminators
These Illuminators are supplied complete with a Tungsten/Argon Spot Bulb for each lamp head. The beam spread is 15° providing a 7.5 cm (3 in) field diameter. The color temperature is 2,900°K. Flood Bulbs are also available with a beam spread of 50° providing a 30 cm (12 in) field diameter.
600 ftc Single/1,200 Dual ftc Illuminators
These Illuminators are supplied complete with a high intensity Tungsten/Argon Reflector Bulb with a screw base for each lamp head. The beam spread is 64° providing a 18 cm (7 in) field diameter. The color temperature is 2,600°K. Supplied complete with a Tungsten/Quartz/Halogen combination Bulb for each lamp head.
