The rugged boom stand features a 39.1 cm (15.4 in) chrome steel vertical post and a 53.3 cm (21 in) horizontal bar. The 26.2 x 24.1 cm (10.3 x 9.5 in)rectangle metal base assures positive stability. A locking collar prevents accidental slippage on the vertical pole. The universal arm with the standard 5/8 inch diameter knuckle mounts directly to the end of the horizontal bar. The ZM-186 has a drift free focusing range of 3.5 cm (15.4 in).
